Is this a solid wood monitor riser or is it MDF / veneer?

Solid wood, all the way through. The shelf top is a single piece of hardwood. No veneer, no plywood core, no MDF. Flip it over and it looks the same as the top. That's how you tell.

Does the Mac Studio fit underneath the Monolith Desk Shelf?

Yes. The Mac Studio is 3.7" tall. The Monolith gives you 4" of clearance underneath, so it slides in cleanly with a quarter inch to spare. Same goes for most external drives, hubs, and compact PCs.

Will it hold an ultrawide monitor plus studio speakers?

Yes. The Monolith is 42" wide with a 230 lb weight capacity. An ultrawide monitor and a pair of studio speakers won't come close to that limit. It won't flex, bow, or shift under load.

Why does a solid wood monitor riser cost more than a plastic one?
